p.s. I have also tried the 250c driver using the same procedure - the laser moves but the trace does not show up. There seem to be a number of people who have got this to work on the RS Gold, but very few if any who have gotten it to work on the MH721.
Okay, there is another problem, so I am back on the original PC, which is a bit different, in that it is a Dell Optiplex GX280. I will again download the driver from the site, and follow the instructions. This time though, I got a message box telling me that the driver was not going to work, saying something about the Windows Update. I ignored it and got the drivers installed.
I have now installed Signblazer on the laptop and have tried the recommended Redsail 800c and Creation PT630 drivers - both without success. Having repeated the sequence on the proposed path, and tried the same sequences on a Mac on the same laptop, I can see the laser does move, but the trace doesn't show up on the screen on the Mac - so it is not tracing, just moving. Even when I turn off the laser I can see no trace on the Mac. Also, the laser is on when I boot up the laptop on the Mac; once Signblazer is running, the laser is off and still the trace does not appear on the Mac. If I disconnect the laptop from the cable and reconnect it, the trace does appear in the Mac; but again, once I start Signblazer, the laser goes off and the trace does not appear.
