XLN Audio went through all existing Addictive Drums kits and pulled out a set of ideas and sounds for each one. For example, you could use the authentic bootleg "Hold On" kit one of our programmer's owns to make risqué beats. The kick drum can be replaced with a Pro-mark drum kit for more beef, or kick out the snare and replace it with a transitional snares for that modern 80's sound you're looking for. The same rule applies to all the kits in Addictive Drums 2 - you get all the sounds and ideas for each kit. The only thing you need to decide is how you can use them.
XLN Audio has done an awesome job at recording these drum kits at the studio at the famous Fairfax Recording where the great stuff like Fleetwood Mac's Rumours and The Beach Boys Pet Sounds were recorded. ED2 contains drums recorded in a real studio environment, and every kit has its distinct character and sound thanks to unique effects applied to each kit.
We have an entire arsenal of amazing effects, for each kit. They include Transient Shaper, Synth Decay, Cepstrum Filtering, Multi-Tape Delay, Distortion, Chorus, Plate Reverb, Choke, and more than 20 additional effects. Many of these effects are brand-new to the market and available for the first time in Addictive Drums 2 for Mac. We're sure you're going to want to try out these effects and combine them with the exotic sounds of these amazing kits. As an example, the former Remo CVC-15 At-A-Glance vamp switch has been rebuilt for the AD2 engine.
Addictive Drums 2 for Mac also features Live Drum Rhythms. These can be both streamed as wav files to our Live drum kit by right-clicking on the live drumkit in the interface. They can also be used as loops that cut-up a live performance and can be played as a loop (without live drummer), although in the case of the Live drums, there is a displayed cue to show you the next pattern.
