This the first Paramore song officially released as a single, although "Now is the time," a B-side from their self-titled debut, is also commonly played on YouTube. A tingling slow-burner, it's a snapshot of a relationship at the height of its power and mess, as muted strings recall a distant, melancholy past. Featuring Hayley's ineffable vocal performance amongst all the instruments, it's the most vivid example of the band's ability to weave restraint with eloquence. Perhaps the moments of maximum value in the album are when the connecting elements are the least obvious. This is one of them.
