A visual depth display is available on the "Advanced View" tab as a preview of the depth maps or the entire orthoimage. A gray-scaled mask overlays the image. The mask is the intersection of the depth map data with the image data and any adjustments applied to the image.
The High Resolution Orthoimagery collection was acquired through USGS contracts, partnerships with other Federal, state, tribal, or regional agencies, and direct purchases from private industry vendors. Since data came from a variety of sources, the resolution, area of coverage, file size, and projection varies by dataset.
The USGS EROS Center manages and distributes this orthoimagery, which includes black-and-white, natural color and color infrared. Digital download products are available for each region in a Georeferenced Tagged Image File Format (GeoTIFF).
Select the Visualize Local Adjustment check box in the Visualize Color check box to view each photo un-colored, in a mix of the original and reddish colors. These adjustments are produced by local adjustment filters or algorithms.
Select the Show Local Alignment Value check box to display the blue histogram used for local adjustment applied to the photo. By default, the algorithm always sets the blue histogram to 1.0. The value is what is applied to the local adjustment.
The true color of images can be displayed by following steps. The first step is to mask out the area of interest using the Ortho Mask tool available in the Catalog menu that is active when the True Color thumbnail is clicked. d2c66b5586
