I love Urban Decay, and I love the rosy tones inside the original Naked 3 Palette, so I was excited to try the Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette, and I liked the mini format, as I own the Naked Basics Mini Palettes, and I thought this palette would complement those very well.
The Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette is 26 / $29, and contains six powder shadows with a total 6g of product, with 1g per pan. I have to get on my soapbox now, and complain about the value of this palette.
This palette is the same price as both Naked Basics Palettes. Both palettes have six pans, and both palettes have identical packaging. Except, every pan inside the Naked Basics Palettes contain 1.3g of product, and the Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette is just 1g per shade.
I personally like all the nuances but I have a few things to comment regarding the quality of the eyeshadows. In my opinion the palette is close to perfection, the only mention I have is regarding 3 eyeshadow colors in Dust, Limit and Nooner.
I am so glad that you are finally able to see and test the UD products yourself. It makes such a difference to be able to walk into a real, live store and check it out for yourself. Whilst this colour palette is too rosy pink for me (a redhead), Mugshot and Darkside are gorgeous colours. I am sure you will enjoy this palette.
Do you like mini palettes I loved huge eyeshadow palettes. Don't get me wrong. I still do. But there is something special about a mini palette with your favorite eyeshadow shades. When I heard that Urban Decay was coming out with a Naked3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette, I wanted it. I did not buy the Urban Decay Naked3 Original Palette, so it made sense to me to buy the mini one.
Naked3 mini is half the size of the original Naked3 palette. The packaging is similar to the other Naked mini palettes. The plastic palette has a nice sized mirror, which is always helpful. I like that it snaps shut and will be great for travel.
The shades included in this palette are Glassy (ivory sheen), Public (peachy-champagne shimmer), Laced Up (dusty-rose matte), Stolen (mauve shimmer), Right Time (grey-plum matte), Spiced (deep charcoal-brown with purple sheen). These are brand new shades. None of the shades are from the Naked3 Palette, so its confusing why they would name this palette the Naked3 mini.
The eyeshadows are exactly what I expected them to be. I love the soft, rosy tones. Mostly, I use a combination of the lighter shades and a bit of the deeper shades to darken my crease. You can create super smokey looks as well as simple looks with this palette. I see myself travelling with this palette and creating different looks with it.
This is perfect for neutral, rose toned looks. I always use an eyeshadow primer, because I have oily lids. You can use this palette wet or dry. To use it wet, spray your brush with setting spray before using. Online the Naked3 Mini Palette looked cool toned. I prefer warmer shades. But I am happy to report that the shades are not as cool toned as they appear to be in the online pictures.
I experienced some fall out with Public. Sometimes I apply this shade with my finger instead of using a brush. Stolen is so beautiful and looks pretty on the lids. Right Time and Spiced and smooth and pigmented. Overall I am happy with this palette.
If you prefer neutral eye shadow colors, but still want a versatile palette, the Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette is for you! Urban Decay did an incredible job with Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette. The colors are unique, beautiful, and can help create the perfect look for any occasion! No negatives here, because I am obsessed with this beauty buy.
So, PSA over. If you own a counterfeit makeup product, I highly recommend for your safety you think twice about using it. These horror stories and scary allergic reactions are enough for me to toss this thing in the trash. If you want a higher end makeup palette but are on a budget, try a dupe from an established brand like Makeup Revolution or LA Girl.
Current products include lip, eye, complexion and body products.[2] They are most well-known for their Naked collection, which includes twelve different eye shadow palettes. Its target market is women, although it is not limited to this range, and is also designed to appeal to customers who wish to purchase cruelty-free makeup.[3] Its products are sold at large department stores in the United States such as Macy's, Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, and from the official website,[4][5] as well as in several other countries such as Mexico and Germany.[citation needed]
Pink, red, and beige tones dominated the beauty industry palette until the mid-1990s.[6] In 1995, Sandy Lerner, a co-founder of Cisco Systems, and Patricia Holmes were at Lerner's mansion outside London when Holmes mixed raspberry and black to form a new color. Then, they decided to form a cosmetics company, which they named Urban Decay.[7] Launched in January 1996, it offered a line of ten lipsticks and 12 nail polishes. Their color palette was inspired by the urban landscape, with names such as Roach, Smog, Rust, Oil Slick, and Acid Rain.[8]
Recent celebrity ambassadors for Urban Decay include Ruby Rose and Nicole Richie.[14] In June 2019, Urban Decay announced its new motto \"Pretty Different\" and named five global citizens as their brand ambassadors - Ezra Miller, Lizzo, Joey King, Karol G, and CL.[15] A year later they announced three more ambassadors to promote their Naked Ultraviolet palette - Normani, G.E.M and Camila Mendes.[16] In January 2021, the South Korean worldwide idol group, Monsta X was announced as the brand's global ambassadors and the promotions will start in February.[17][18]
The collection later expanded to include other eyeshadow palettes like Naked Basics, Naked 2,[20] Naked2 Basics,[21] Naked 3,[22] Naked Smoky,[23] Naked Ultimate Basics,[24] Naked Heat, Naked Heat Petite, Naked Cherry, Naked Reloaded, Naked Honey, Naked Ultraviolet, Naked Cyber and Naked Wild West.[25] A sub-collection of the original Naked collection, Naked Complexion,[26] includes other skin products like foundations, concealers, blushes, highlighters, bronzers and makeup tools to accompany them.
In 2018 Urban Decay collaborated with beauty influencer Kristen Leanne, an advocate for cruelty-free cosmetics, to launch the UD Kristen Leanne collection. The collection included two eyeshadow palettes, a single eyeshadow, lipsticks and a face palette.[28]
In early 2017, Urban Decay announced its Vice liquid lipstick collection would be released.[30] The name of Vice became a real business card of this brand after they introduced their lipstick palette. In their Revolution lipgloss series, tone with this name became the most popular out of the whole lineup having gained 5 out of 5 stars rating among the Amazon buyers.[31]
I own every Naked palette because I have a palette problem :(. I will own this too, just waiting on the e-mail from Urban Decay. I want Buzz on my face (probably on my eyelids). Thanks for the thorough review!
The original (and best). Urban Decay nailed it in one and we may as well all go home now. Because the Naked 1 palette is the bomb dot com. I reach for it almost every day because the shade range is stunning, the colours are wearable and the pigmentation is insane.
Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palettes are one of my go to eyeshadow formulas. Not only do the shade ranges flatter my medium skin tone, they also have formula that is extremely blendable and long wearing. Plus, each palette tells a differently neutral color story!
I own eight full size Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palettes - a couple have been provided as press samples, the rest I purchased on my own. They're versatile and flatter my medium skin tone. Spoiler: The Naked3 eyeshadow palette is one of my favorites - maybe it has to do with it being my first Naked eyeshadow palette or because I really enjoy rose tones.
I have several individual reviews of each palette and will link them below but wanted one central piece focused on sharing swatches of each of the Naked palettes. I personally find swatches as one of the helpful pieces before purchasing eyeshadow palettes, especially seeing makeup swatches on a skin tone similar to mine.
Some of these eyeshadow palettes have been discontinued but I kept the swatches here in case you're interested in the color story and finding an alternative that shares a similar theme to the discontinued eyeshadow palettes.
The OG palette! The one that started the phenomenon. This is actually not my first Naked Eyeshadow Palette purchase - I bought this when word first came out that the original Naked Eyeshadow Palette was going to be discontinued. It's full of neutral mattes and shimmers with a couple blues to create day looks as well as smoky and sultry evening looks.
Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette includes 12 rose hued neutral shades with mattes, shimmers, metallics, and pearl finishes. This is a great palette for any and all occasions - the shade range is versatile for the most simple looks and extravagant looks for events.
Urban Decay's Naked Smokey is, like the name suggests, has shades to create intense, smokey looks. This Naked Palette is the one I reach for the least since I don't create smokey looks often. I bought Naked Smokey out of excitement when it was on sale and could do without this palette in my collection since my makeup style
Urban Decay's Naked Heat palette is another top 3 favorite eyeshadow palette of mine in the Naked line. Naked Heat delivers all the neutral warm tone and fiery goodness with its burnt oranges and rich siennas. It's also one that flatters all skin tones and has matte shades and shimmers. See my full review of Naked Heat here!
I especially love using this eyeshadow palette during summer and fall seasons - they're perfect for creating rich, orange toned looks for both seasons. See a list of my other favorite eyeshadow palettes for fall makeup looks here!
This Urban Decay eyeshadow palette is also in my top 3 favorite Naked eyeshadow palettes. I did a fun shoot with Naked Cherry when it was first released! The rose golds and rich cherry tones are ones I am obsessed with and also is full of inclusive shades for all skin tones. I have a full review here! 59ce067264
